Update–Thanks to All Who Came Out
Big thanks to our volunteer and nonvolunteer firefighters, our teachers. They are pictured here with residents from Radiance, Ila Creek, Goldenwood and Goldenwood West neighborhoods.
On Saturday, May 11, from 2:00-3:30PM, Jason Caldwell, from the Driftwood Fire Station, will do a LIVE FIRE EXTINGUISHER demonstration at the Dome (brief lecture) and the Dome parking lot (live fire demo).
One of our neighbors in a nearby community recently lost his home because he had a kitchen fire and no extinguisher. Don’t let that happen to you! Sponsored by the Crystal Hills Combined Firewise Team, this demo could save your home! If you’ve never used a fire extinguisher, join us to see a professional firefighter demonstrate how it’s done.
And if you don’t own one, you can get an ABC extinguisher at Costco or Home Depot or Lowe’s or Walmart – lots of choices! https://www.costco.com/First-Alert-Fire-Extinguisher.product.100351496.html
Join us for the Demo – weather permitting – on May 11. (If it’s pouring rain or too windy, we’ll let everyone know an alternate date.
FIREWISE WORK DAY – Saturday, May 25
To keep our Firewise status, our combined communities must submit new work hours every year. May is wildfire awareness month, so we are holding a community-wide work day on Saturday, May 25. The official work hours are in the morning, but ANY hours you work to Firewise your landscape, on that day or any other day, will count toward our hours. Just be sure to email all hours – date, hours, and address where the work was done using the contact form below.
